If gas is no longer "used" or "available" later in life, then you bet I will be modifying the stang in some way to keep her running.
I imagine methanol costs more right now?

MCdonalds is getting a deal off of that because they pay companies even more to take their oil away

dont worry, the plan to surround the majority of oil fields in the middle east is well under way. Go take a look at where either troops are positioned or bases are. its funny when you see how badly iran is surrounded. Anyway, the alternative thing is fine and all but the ease of availability (aka gas stations) is decades away

Exactly Jim.....My brother runs cooking oil in his diesel PSD, but mixed with real diesel. He says it is a pain to not only get the oil, but the mixing process is also not too convenient. Whenever we get this oil made from whatever available at the pumps that will actually burn in our Mustangs without spending a ton of money for mods, then it is a pipe dream for most of us. Face it, we are stuck with using dino gas in our ponies.

Like others I have used methanol in race engines for years, but it is not trouble free, first meth burns at about twice the rate of gas, so fuel mileage on an old tang would be about 7 to 10 mpg, it can also be very hard to start in cold weather. I like to burn the stuff, makes great power and engine wear is minimal. It can leave a dry white powder if you leave it sitting for long periods, and a bad batch of fuel can also consume aluminum, makes a real mess of a fuel pump and inside the carb, however the high gas price is making it a better buy , if we can get a better distuibution system methanol use could be something to consider.
