Help with Flat Spot
I just put a new intake manifold gaskets on yesterday becuase of a top end leak - with some help from a freind who is a little more mechanically inclined. Car has a new 600 holley runing on a 302 with a 289 performar intake, have flame thrower and replaced points to petronix.
After changing the manifold I now have some hestiation on take off and when stomping on it that was not there before. Prior to this I had factory setting on the holley (1 1/2 turns out). I changes to 2 1/4 little better but still there.
Only changes besides new gasket was we advanced timing 10 degrees from what manual calls for. Put petronix on it's own igntion wire - prior to that had it spliced with electric choke. Tested and getting full 12 to petronix - prior to this was only getting about 9 volts.
Any suggestions on where to check for hesitation - prior to this was able to smoke them - not runs a little doggy. Appreciate any advice. thanks

cool. not to hard. Loosen the distribitor before starting. hook up the light, one wire for the number one sparkplug wire, and the positive and negative. start car, and point light at the timing marks. they should line up with the pointer. YOu may have to dab some paint or something on the balancer in order to see the marks.
