I was wondering if i can add a trailer hitch on my 1968 289 pony, to pull a small 13 foot travel trailer, and if i can where would be a good place to find the kit? I would like to add , I am new to this forum and i find MustangForums to be a great resource ! Thanks

ive seen it before.......looks sort of like midget giving fat bastard a piggy back ride....but hey...if u must....u must i guess........

i dont know where you could find a "kit" as mustangs arent made for any type of towing at all...and i dont know where you would mount it but im sure it can be done as ive seen pictures of people with those little bubble campers on the back of the stang.

Shifty,

I just about had coffee come out my nose at that visual. Thanks for a good laugh this morning.

I have seen Mustangs with trailer hitches as well, If you really want to do this, check with U-Haul or some other trailering supply outfit for specifics.

I agree with the looks issue! But, I do have one on my '67. My grandma purchased the car new and had the dealer put it on. I used to tow a 17' ski boat with it many moons ago...worked great.
Not sure if anyone has a kit for this.
Good luck,
Troy

I really hate to see a classic Mustang pulling anything. U-Haul will install it, and will go into your trunk as well as your frame rail. They will also hook up the wiring which will be in your trunk when you need it. Bottom line though, is that you don't have a frame, so only a very light trailer can be pulled with it. I just shiver when I think about it. [sm=badidea.gif]

That's what Pick-em-up trucks were designed to do.

just buy a beater truck so you don't look like a retard. Who knows, a beater truck might even be cheaper than the kit....
