thumpin, if you do a comparo you should also include a flow chart diagram of the oiling system. someone explained to me (i have no idea if this is true, but i dont really think so) that one of the differences between a C and M is the flow of oil.

Um... A Clevor is not a Cleveland. It is a 351W with Cleveland heads. And it does not have the oiling problems common to Clevelands.

The 400M I got runs and its in a truck, so I dont plan to tear it apart yet.. But I can take some pics of it for ID purposes from Clevelands.

The W has a cracked block, its a marine engine, but there is little difference between auto and marine in the way of castings. Since its cracked its getting torn down, and the block scrapped, unless someone wants to fill the water jackets and use it as a drag only engine on alky..

Already have pics of the cleveland, its assembled and on the engine stand waiting for me to get somewhere with the rusted hulk it came from.

One of the 302s is cracked, so its demise will be the same as the W. Bag all the useable parts and scrap the rest.

Sure you could send some pics, more is always a good thing when it comes to pics.

If I had a flowbench life would be really good. Porting heads would be alot more interesting to me then. I'll do some searching and see what I can come up with. I remember reading about 4V heads flowing over 240cfm@28" but with slightly smaller ports it jumped to 290cfm. Thats pretty good for a small block, even decent for a big block.

Yeah the flow of oil is different in C and M, a few other changes too. Quite the different engine but still looks really close and gets confused for Clevelands all the time. The only trucks I saw with factory Clevelands were Rancheros, not sure if F100 and up ever had a factory Cleveland or not. I know they had Windsors, thats my main source for them. Ms went in almost everything, trucks, cars, busses, farm equipment...

I am going to get a 1967 or 1968 Mustang cope and I whuld lake to now what the best Ford Small Block engine whuld be to get. I am look to get 400 hp with high performance parts. also what the best 5 speed Transmission to get.
I love it someone says I want XXX Hp. Why is it that people dont say I want a daily driver that will run 13s or I want an ocasional driver that will see a lot of track use and run 12s?
400 Hp? what you want to do with the car is far more important for everything including engine choice, performance part choice, trans choice, rear end choice etc. See where Im coming from?
So, what do you want to achieve? (other than 400hp)
