thank you everyone i just found out my car is a 302 not a 289!!!!!

68 mustang- built in san jose-coupe-302 4v- 130807 made on the production line

that number after the - is your production number....basically...your stang is the 130,807th to roll off the assembly line.

The best sure way to be positive is to pull the starter and get the number off the actual block...and decode it.

Well, does it say "302" in the oil valley underneath the intake? How would a 4.6 liter be a 5.0 liter.
