I was wondering if anyone has had this problem. I am attempting to replace the door handle shafts and put new door handles in my 64 1/2 Mustang. The problem is that the new handles don't fit on the old shafts so I purchased new shafts (which all stated that they accept 64 1/2 clip on handles) and they don't work with the new or old handles. The only combination that works is the old handles and the old shafts, I have gone through two different stores which say that the shafts will fit the 64 1/2 clip on style, only to find out that they don't. I have tried many different handles and shafts and am getting frustrated. The handles in every case don't slide down the shaft far enough to clip on, I have tried many different handles so I don't think I just got a bad one. Any advice?

there are 2 styles, if there is a screw hole, it is the incorrect one, go to a real Mustang shop, like www.mustamgcountryintl.com
