5.0, I6 conversion
I'm getting a 67 mustang with a 200 I6 3-speed and want to put a v8 auto in it(wife can't drive a stick). The 5.0's from the fox body mustangs are plentiful around here. This is my first v8 conversion. Can someone tell me the best way to do so or would a non efi 302 be easier to install. I wanted to put a 5.0 in it because the car has a c4 auto that comes with it along with a 5.0 intake and heads.
Hello and welcome to the site newbie. We get asked this question a lot, so bear with us. There is a lot more than just upgrading the engine for this swap. You will need to upgrade the entire front suspension to include 5 bolt drums or disks, plus the entire front suspension, plus the entire rear end. Here is some reading for you.

Thanks for the welcome. Well upon further inspection of the 67 mustang it already has 5 lug front and rear axels so it shouldn't be as hard to convert. I'm buying the 67 mustang for $2500 which I think is a dang good deal because it's in pretty good shape. I'm gonna have to wait because a while to convet it till I can get more money saved up. Another plus is i got a c4 auto trans a set of 302 heads, 2 intakes, valve covers, cam, aluminum air intake for $75. Me and my wife are gonna learn to drive a stick (yes I know its sad that we don't already know how). But you can't beat the sound and power of a v8 so I will convert it.
I just read my first post and realized that I said that the parts came with the car that was my mistake.
