Need help installing rear u-joint!! ASAP

I got them in! No more vibration problems! Thanks for the help. Oh and I didnt use the snap rings. Yes, all you need to use is a needle nose pliers.

You need to use the snap rings. They hold the caps into the driveshaft.

Why did I say hog nose pliers? I must be suffering from CRS tonight. Of course, I meant needle nose. I guess I need to go feed the fish.

You don't need the snap rings on the part that goes to the rearend yoke. I will gaurantee that!

they put the extras in there cause some drive shafts have a different flang on them like late model mustangs and since it wouldnt be cost worthy to package them differently well u get the pic

Well now I've put u joints in my truck and mustang both and they used snap rings.

I agree that you must have snap rings to retain the u-joint in the drive shaft but you do not need them where the u-joint goes into the rear end yoke. They don't do anything. The caps are retained by the U-bolts and the tabs on the yoke. BTY I have never seen mustang with inside snap rings like those shown. I've done a bunch of u-joint and they were always the outside kind.

my 65 uses them i likethe outeside ones myself!
