Default Rare engine?

Got another question for ya...

I have a 351 Cleveland and on the engine block there are letters in all four corners. YVVYVV or something like that. The guy I bought it from said that the engines with those are rare, does anyone know this to be true?

I appreciate it, thanks!

Default RE: Rare engine?

xxxx and yyyy's in the lifter valley? If os those are supposed to be higher nickel content but that has never been verified by anyone at ford, and I literally grew up at ford in the late 70's and 80's As far as being rare? nah not really, australia has a boatload of clevelands since they made the engine till the mid 80's. If the block is standard bore thats good if the core shift isnt bad. If its 30 over already its junk
