Default Need help with hoses

i had someone work on my car and they did alot of stupid things. now before i can drive it i need to fix a couple of things. one of which is the hoses behind the carb. the person i let do some things cut and plugged some of the hoses telling me i didn't need them. now after a hired mechanic looked at it he says it was dangerous. so if anybody could give me some pictures of where all the hoses are connected to it would help me alot.

Your sig shows a classic, and your avatar says 87. You didn't say what year car you have nor did you say what engine you have. That information would be helpful for us to determine which hoses you need and where they go. As far as being dangerous, no... you could take every hose off your engine, and if it still runs, it will not be dangerous. Here are a few pics of my 65 C code Mustang 289. You will see the pcv valve hose connected to the bottom of the carb, the choke tubing connected to the choke mechanism and the small rubber tubing that connects to the air cleaner. This may or may not be of any help to you, but you may get a better picture of what you need.

Yeah theres nothing back there that Id be worried about. The only thing that can be "dangerous" is the fuel line, which in your case is probably steel. So no there nothing dangerous about removing hoses from back there, unless he disconnected the the vacuum line to your brake booster (if your car has one).

PS: I think this new mechanic is trying to BS you into a lot of unneccessary work.
