Default autozone gt-40 heads...

ok i went in and talked to 2 different guys at two different autozones. they both say that the heads are bare. one said it was 269.99 for the pair the other said 269.99 each. i beleive the second guy that they are sold seperatley and not as a pair. but ive heard from several people on the forum that the heads come assembled. was just wondering if anybody whos actually gotten these heads from autozone can tell me if they are assembled or not. and if it really matters cuz wont i just have to get new roller rockers and rocker arms anyway?

According to the Autozone website, it's $269.99 for a cylinder head (singular)...

This is a weird looking link from the page, so not sure if you can get it from here, but here goes...

http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBr...%7ENONE%7C%7EV

I didn't go with the Autozone 40's... I opted to rework my original heads for the time being.... $500.00 and I knew for a fact that everything would bolt back up like it was supposed to. I figured I may go back and look at aluminum ones down the road sometime.

Theyre probably the GT-40P heads that came on explorers. So you could just go to a salvage yard and get some exploder heads and work em. Theyll prolly cut you a deal like $50 or $100 bux a head.
