Default Wheel spacers to fit disc brakes?

Just put on SSBC front power disc brake conversion. Strange that they fit my stock 14 inch rims fine, but I just bought 15x7 Style Steel Wheels and I need to use a 3/16' spacer. For some reason, SSBC says that spacers are not recommended, but my local trusted mechanic and Mustang's Plus says small spacers are fine. I'm only street driving. Why would they say they are dangerous, and are they?

They have to say that to cover their butt. A 3/16" spacer will be just fine, and not dangerous. Anything much thicker will cause stress on your lug bolts, but not that skinny thing.
