aftermarket gauges
I will be installing white faced gauges behind the factory bezel (actually a '68 bezel only because of the galloping horse emblem as the high beam indicator is COOL!) Any way the 5" tach and speedo (I had the tach already) seem to be a very nice fit. My question is the matching gauges for fuel, oil press and water temp either come 2" or 2 5/8" with out having either a 2" or 2 5/8" gauges handy it appears that the 2" will be a very close fit. Anyone know before I order the WRONG size? What fits best on the 3 smaller gauge holes. 05SDI
I used Autometer Phantom's that I got from Summit. Not sure if they were 2 or 2 1/16 or 2 1/8th. If you really want to know I can look it up. I have heard that 2 5/8ths works but I have never mount those.

The small gauges I used are 2 1/16. You see a lot more of the black bezel around the gauge using that size but they fit in the hole very nice and tight. The 2 5/8 must be mounted behind the instrument cluster like I did with the speedo and tach. Here are some pictures. It might give you some ideas. Keep in mind I did mine for about $500. Mustang depot has this one http://www.mustangdepot.com/OnLineCa...NW67-EPKit.jpg for 759 and the black finish one for 659. You can save some money doing it yourself but it ain't easy. I didn't use the aftermaket gauge supports either. Those are $35. I just used the stock back piece and modified it to work. I think you can see in the pics

67t5,
Seems we are traveling down simular roads with our '67 coupes. (your just a some months or more ahead of me) Same car body, gauges, wheels.
I don't know what engine you have assume you have a 5 speed, but ours is a C4 behind a brand new 302 crate engine. We will end up painting it '06 Screaming yellow (I wonder why) It'll have 4 wheel disc (like yours) and most likely coil over front suspension. I not sure what to do with the rear suspension right now. I think we will drive it as is this summer aquiring parts and then strip it down and build it up through out the winter. Seem it'll be easier to afford parts if I can spread out the time frame. 05SDI

I'm running a 9 inch rear with 3:50 gears but drum brakes on the back. The trans is a T5 and the motor is a fresh 302 with trick flow heads. I'll be painting mine clearwater aqua with a while vinyl roof. Started last Sept. Hope to be painted by the end of June and on the road by the end of August. We will see.
Right now I got the 3 gauge cluster in my 65 coupe. i want to get this one http://www.mustangdepot.com/OnLineCa..._ultralite.jpg Would i have to get a whole new wiring harness to get it to work, or can I just use the same one I have right now?
