oil pan fit?

anyone know if the oil pan on this engine will fit in a 66?

That appears to be a rear sump. You will need a front sump.

no thats a dual sump like the 5.0 use just reuse ur old one also gonna have to change the oil pump pick up! and timing cover!

also gonna have to plug the hole for the dipstick one the side take a wooden dowel rod that a tight fit drive it in the hole and snip it off the excess the heat and oil will swell it and it will not leak!

66 what??? 289? Why do you think you need a dual sump on that engine? If you have modded it up quite a bit, you could always go with a 7 quart windage tray pan. If not, then the old standard 5 quart front sump pan is just fine.

ok so can i use the oil pick up pump and pan from my 289? also why change timing cover?

not to be off topic, but when i bought my car, the lady gave me a chrome oil pan from ford racing, does anyone else think this is retarded to have a chrome oil pan?
