where to find sheetmetal
ok, anyone know where i can find literally a sheet of sheetmetal, i need it to fabricate part of the inner wheelwell and small part of the floorpan, i really dont want to repalce the entire pan or wheelwell. anywhere online or may, a longshot, homedepot or lowes?
First do you have a micrometor or calipers see what the thickness is the matel shops may have gages if matel not sure what gage you looking for or if to have a pice of the matel to take with you . Is the a matel fabralcation compony near you . or a repair welding shop? I work in a matel shop for a while . Many have scrap bens or drops ok a pice that left from a full sheel get into your mind what size you need ask them if thy will sale a pice so you car repair your floor baord . If it is not to big a pice the price might be real good . or check with a scrape matel yard . well Wish you the best .
Go to a ductwork fab shop. They will have probably 18 to 26ga galv or plain. A sheet of 4' x 8' 22ga will be about 50 bucks! Sheet metal is sold by the pound, but you can convrt weight to sq ft with a lb-sf calc, by guage. You might get them to give you a 2 foot square. Yellow pages! Not everything has to come "on-line" you can still drive around the corner and get some! Good luck.
