Ethanol OK?
I searched but couldn't find anything on here. Some of our local gas station are starting to sell 10% ethanol in their gas. I was just wondering if this is something that should be avoided?
I have used synoco gas that has 10% corn in it for years in my stang no problems that I can tell but I am no expert.

10% isnt enough to do damage to anything. Its safe to run in your car. I ran nothing but that in my GTO while I was in Nebraska. Ethanol will tend to separate if it sits a while, the fuel sloshing around the tank keeps it mixed while driving. But if you leave the car for a week you will have ethanol on the bottom of the tank and gasoline above it. its not a big deal, just drive it around and it will mix again.
I do recomend putting non ethanol it in about every 7-10 tanks. Run it as close to dry as possible and then fill it with no ethanol fuel. Why? Ethanol and methanol absorb water. Its just cheap insurance and a simple way to keep water and rust out of your tank.
If you store your car for long periods, or have bought a car that hasnt run in 10 years or more you can have alot of rust in the tank. Cars that havent moved in 15-20 years like some of mine will need a new tank, because you cant get all the rust and crap out of it. It will plug your fuel filters, lines and carb if you leave it in there.
