yeah, if your solenoid is new, it's more than likely that it's your switch. try that. there is still a possibility you got a shoddy switch and it's busted internally.

It's your switch then. I would guess. I understand what you are saying about "no spring" when you turn the key. You have to manually return from "start" to "run". If the spring is broken inside, it is probably touching something inside. At any rate, you have a failed spring. It is metal. You are playing with electrical. Do the math! Sumpin aint rat in thar! Good luck!
