Default 65 Stuck Gas filler Cap

Some petrol pump attendent filled up my car and put the fuel filler cap on wrong and now it is stuck, it hits the body work. I was wondering best how to fix this my plan is to use pliers to undo from the trunk inner the screws and hopefully that will hopefully give me the clearence and then i can unscrew it or do you think is will be permenent stuck and have to replace the gas cap and filler assembly?

Cheers

That happend to me once, the cap dug right into the rear of the car, I saw it and I was so pissed. I had to force it out a little bit, the paint was already f'ed up from the guy putting it on at a weird angle, I forced it off and did a little damage cuz im a retard but i bought a billet gas cap that covers it (restomod car) I'm having it repainted someday soon so I'm not TOO upset about it. Good luck [:@]

I will sure fill my own gas from now on. My major problem is I am in the Netherlands so i can't get a new one quickly as things take a month to get from the States to me on average!!!

My old cap fit fine but my new one hits the body. I took the filler tube off and straightened the flange a bit since it was bent, but bought 2 gaskets instead of 1 to replace the paper thin one. Double up on your filler tube gaskets and it will gauge it out a bit...

You can take the cable off by going inside the trunk and take out the nut that holds the cable. After that, just keep working with the notches to get them aligned and it will come off. No need to do any prying.
