Default glovebox insert

How do I install the new insert for the glovebox? Right now there is just a gapping hole where it used to be. I have the door, just no insides Do you have to take the dash out??? I am totally new at this, and my boyfriend is a Chevy man.
Thanks, Chelle

On my 66' you take the glovebox insert and go under the dash with it and line it up to the screw holes ( there should be about six holes i think) It's also much easier to do if the heater box is out of the way.

It's pretty easy, but easier if the heater box and glove box is out of the way. They're supposed to be to be "pushed in" from the front, but it doesn't work too well.
The box was actually designed to fold(hence the creases in the cardboard) and push through the door opening. If you're careful, this can be done. I ended up with a small tear in the botton corner when I did mine, but it's in(and I wasn't too careful either). Good Luck.
