Be careful. Some of those places for classic insurance impose an age limit and you said you were only 20. I am 20 as well and have my insurance under my dad's name through state farm. My car is insured for $20000 full coverage for $150 every six months. I think I have like a 7000 mile a year limitation, which I don't even reach on my Daily Driver. I would check though about getting it through your parents.
$150 every 6 months!!!!!! HOW!? i pay $1008 every 6 months. which is what i pay now for my 4banger fox. spotless driving record, i got both my tickets taken off the record. no accidents, almost 18. this sux.

I am older and with good driving record however one of the requirements of all classic Insurance Co is that the car has to be keep on a close garage, unfortunately I live in an appartment building so I have to insured with my regular Ins Co for a much higher premium.

The 71-73 Mach I came with the 302 as the base engine. No 6-bangers.

But by saying its a 6 banger he can get a much lower rate...cause the car wont go as fast as an 8...its all about numbers.

I was talking about a previous post that someone believed the Mach's didn't come with 302's.

It depends how well the insurance company's software is written if they'll let him claim a 6-banger as the engine type, and some want to inspect the car first hand, although it's doubtful they'd know the difference. [sm=grinangel.gif]

FYI, I only spend $120 a year for the classics (each) through State Farm. It does help having a couple daily drivers and a house.

Ok, question. I currently am 20, I rent a house with a locked garage. How can I get on my parents plan, let the car be my daily driver, and stop paying State Farm $1,168.51???!? Won't my parents insurance plan know that I am driving it and insure me for roughly the same amount?

The key is that there are other cars on the insurance policy. Thats why its on my dads. They assume that it is not going to be a daily driver and you are going to take good care of it. It also helps to have a 45 year old man as the principle driver.
