or inline2, whatever, 2 cylinders.
While the stock horsepower may have been 200 or there about, that is probably not the case for a 38 year old engine. There are a lot of contributing factors to the current HP rating. How well was the engine was up kept, cylinder compression, blow by, how well the car is tuned, condition of carb, ignition etc. wear of cam lobes over time and more. I would think that a stock motor of this age would be significantly less. Also, even though you have headers, the rest of the exaust will have an impact as well. I saw a recent article on dyno tuning and they had a mint looking orignal 67 fastback 289 that only pulled about 125hp before tuning etc. (not sure, but I would think that that rating is by today's method of determining HP, but that is still less than stock)
So your answer is, it depends.....
Here is a good dyno article that discusses these ssues further

The VW beetle was a 4 cylinder, horizontally opposed.
Also, to clarify things, it is 2v and 4v not v2 and v4. The v stands for verturi, which is the equivalent of a 'barrel'. So it would be 2 venturi.

it may not have been the VW, but i know there was another import round in the 60's that had 2 cylinders, and like 50HP
