Default Noisy fuel line

I have an occasional, recurring clanging/scraping noise that seems to be coming from inside the left rear wheel well of my '67. I crawled under it and the only thing I could get to move enough to make a noise was the fuel line. With a little nudge, it would hit up against the frame as well as the gas tank. I wedged a couple of pieces of rubber in between the line and the places it was making contact and haven't heard the noise since. Of course, like I said, it was an occasional noise, so it could happen again at any time and prove me wrong. But basically I posted this to see if anyone else had ever had a similar problem, and if so, what you did about it.

Default RE: Noisy fuel line

if the noise occured while turning, I would think its the brake hose or line rubbing or binding. Fuel line should not be moving, unless its loose and the vibration from bumps in the road was making it hit. It sounds from your description like you found the problem.
