Default Interested in Mustangs

Hey all, I'm new obviously. I'm going to be moving out to California in a couple of months and I hear classic mustangs are a dime a dozen. I never have been a super Mustang enthusiast, but sure wouldn't mind owning one.

My questions are fairly general. I've looked at images and like all of the coupes and the convertables, but especially the fastbacks from the classic years. What kind of prices can I expect to pay for one in ...I don't know "good" condition that will last me a long time? Are fastbacks much more expensive than coupes and convertables?

In my experience it seems as thought the 65-70's F/B's are starting to cammand decent money. Of course this is always relative to the condition you want as well as the ening/tranny what you plan on doing with it. i.e. numbers matching show car concourse edition race car or just a clean street driver.

Welcom to the forum

It would probably be used for casual driving and possibly a second car if I dont' sell my truck. I wouldn't be taking it to shows or anything, just something that I could have fun in.

And I could do a decent amount of work on it myself so I would say good to very good condition.

Well that's cool, it is really hard to put a definite number down. I have seen decent 65's go for as low as 12000 and as high as 45000. The 67's and 68's are rapidly becoming harder to come by and much more pricey, and up into the Mach I years are coming into the high demand years, all us thirty somethings wanting the cars we dreamed about as kiddo's I guess.

Good luck in your venture.
