Default 1967 Cougar

After 19 years it has gotten out of the shed its been languishing in. Last was legal in 1987, thats the longest project I have had. Since there was a lot of bare metal, I covered it with yellow rattle can paint to keep it from oxidizing so bad.

The first pic is how filthy it was when I pulled it out, then cleaned up, and with the yellow. I figured its about time I finish my first car and get it driveable again. It was originally red with the black top, 289 C4 and an open 8" with 3.00 gears. No it wasnt fast, but it was a fun car and got me around for a long time.

Kinda thinkin a 392ci Windsor with AFR heads infront of an AOD with 3.55 gears. Just a cruiser with decent power. Since I have a race car, this one doesnt need to be ungodly fast, just fun.

I had a 67 Cat back in the day. Brings back old good memories. The vinly roof covering just somehow went with the cats as opposed to the Mustangs. Sounds like a good plan for restoring it.

I owned three Cougar before my Fastback, When the time comes to sell the Mustang, I'll buy another Cougar or another Fastback! I always like the Cougar better, just a nicer looking car when its done right!

beautiful. the cougars were nothign more then Upscale Mustangs. i cant remember where i ehard it, but i heard that women were more partial to the cougars then the guys were. but either way, i would own one, if i had the time/money/space. one day though, for now i can only dream.

i'm a little more partial to this 67:

but she looks nice. the yellow goes real well with it too.

my next project (if i ever finish this one) will be either a 63 t-bird vert or a 67 t-bird. i really like the lines on the 63.

One of my Cougar was a 1968 XR7-G with power moon roof, the car was soooooooo rusted that I decided to sell it a make a profit, what a dumb mistake! The other was a 1967 XR7-GT with an "S" Code 390 engine, another special ordered car; I wish that I had that car back now! Now, I'm on the hunt for a GTE Cougar not that I can afford one but it's worth trying to locate one or another XR7-G or big block cat, anyone?
