Where is a good place to get 1st gen mustang parts for restoring one? (seats carpet etc etc)

There are a lot. Look in the FAQ's and google.

NPD, CJ Pony, Virgina Mustang, Year One.....just a few off the top of my head.

That all depends on what you want to accomplish. Basic Mustang stock replacement parts I reccomend National Parts Depot or California Mustang. Dallas, John's, Sacramento, Virgina Mustang are know to be good dealers as well as other local shops, but check the rep with forum users prior to ordering. Always check the rep of internet supplies, there are some good ones and some that will take you to the cleaners. For after market restomod I generally recomment Mustang Plus and Mustang Depot. Com, but check prices first. Brake parts and bearing I alway buy locally when possible.

Buy what you can at the local auto parts. You'd be surprised what you can still get. NPD is my favorite supplier. They are very fast at shipping.
