I have a 302 and a toploader tranny with 3.25 gears. Except my 302 is from 1990 and has hyraulic lifters.

It is pretty fun to drive. I get her up to 6k occasionally. The thing roars its nice.

How is the 'slam effect' as I like to call it. You know the one... Where you're tossed back in your seat.

Most likely the 2.73. Other ratios were optional, but the 302 was the econo box of its day so they didn't get quite as many of these option boxes checked.

If you have 5k to spend all at once, get a crate engine from Ford Racing, then just put on some headers when you drop it in, fast simple way to have a great , new engine with excellent street horsepower.

Looks like I'm going to have to wait on the modding for awhile. I'm going to burn half of the 5k on work alone since it's 95 an hour here... I hate Hawaii.
