Not sure what the gap is, but the best way to tune is to hook up a dwell meter, and set the gap according to the required dwell angel. I guss the question now is, "what is the dwell angle for your I6?" sorry, dont know that one either.

Set your points to about 0.019" then set dwell to between 39 and 40 degrees for optimum performance. Don't forget to reset the timing after you are done.

Buy the service manual and learn how to tune you car. You will have to buy a tuning set which will include a timing light, dwell tach meter, vacuum gauge, and compression tester
Im sure there has been many threads on tuning here so do a search.

Now, now, now lets be nice. We all need a little help every now and then. If it wasn't for friends helping me, I'd never have bagged a Snipe!

Resetting the timing is as follows:
If you have the automatic there is a timing reset button just to the right and slightly behind the radio (if it's an AM radio only). On the manual transmission version the reset button is just above the left kickpanel should be about the middle.
The only kicker to this is that sometimes they were relocated to make it easier for the technician.
They are very small the button is about the diameter of a pencil eraser and should be black.
After adjusting points and dwell, turn the key to accessory, turn on your parking lights. Hold the button in, turn off the parking lights, then turn the key to run, then off. Let go of the button.

Let us know if you run into any problems with this.

Good luck,
