Default one-wire alternator install problem

So without reading up on what I should do, I felt fairly confident about taking out my voltage regulator and installing a one-wire alternator. Unfortunately, I messed up somewhere because my speedometer no longer works. Also, my alarm system is permanantly on now so I am wondering if I interupted a line that they were pulling voltage from. Anyone have any ideas?

Is your speedo electronic? If it is mechanical, I don't think there would be any related issues with a mechanical speedo since it is fed by the drive gear/cable.

The one wire alternator swap shouldn't have anything to do with either your speedometer or your alarm system. Where do you have the alarm system hooked into to get volatge?

I'm gonna chalk up my speedometer to being just a coincidence.

As for my alarm, I didn't do the install, but I did take apart the dash and was able to see they spliced into a Black/Green cable coming off my ignition.

I believe you need constant voltage to your alarm for it to work with the key off. That would be the big yellow wire.

I've been studying wiring diagrams all day trying to figure it out. I have an appointment to get it checked out tomorrow but I would much rather not pay for it. Anyone have any clue why my alarm might be constantly tripping? It is permanantly on and I cannot disable it. My car seems to be running completely normally (minus the speedometer).
