lights dimming

ok, so i recently got a new stereo system. i have a new alpine deck, (2) 6x9 speakers, (1) 3.5 speaker, and (1) 10" sub powerd by a amp. the higher i put the volume, the more my lights dimm. what can i do to stop the dimming?...THANKZ!!!

Id start by asking this question in the audio section, but from my experience for a few years back, you are simply sucking too much power from a 40 year old 40 amp charging system. Get some capacitors for your sub and that will help, aswell as a high output alternator.

Alternatively (pardon the pun!!!) Take all that crap out of your car, and listen to the sweet tunes from a nice twin exhaust

Yeah, you are sucking too much power from your weak alternator. Step up to a 100 amp alternator.
