Default Flexplate to converter torque question

What is the prpoer way to torque the flexplate to the converter? Will the motor still be on TDC after I rotate the motor one complete turn and come back up on the mark? Thank You!

Default RE: Flexplate to converter torque question

It will be on TDC but not on the compression stroke. It will be on exhuast and the distributor will be 180 degrees out.

When I tighten the converter bolts/nuts I snug each of them to finger tight before torquing them in place. I will be honest, I usually dont use a torque wrench, been workin on them so long the elbow pops out when its tight enough..lol.

But you need to make sure the converter is bolted up evenly, so make them all finger tight and then torque them, Two revolutions and it will be back on TDC compression where you can drop in the distributor.. double check to make sure you have it at TDC before you wire it..
