Make a Protouring car out of it. Make it corner awesome, stop on a dime, run hard, and be as reliable as a new car. That is what I have done to my car. I can sit in traffic on a hot day, run it on a road course and drive home. Or go to cruise ins, car shows or just play on the street with it. Tons of fun to be had with a car setup this way. Check this website out to get a better idea of what a protouring car is all about!!

And it still can be done. I am proof of that. It will just take time to save for the parts. 10 years in the making for mine. Once you set your goal save everything you can and it will pay off in time.

without making it a stroker(they get ruined with around town driving).
Where in the heck did you read this misinformation!! This is so far from the truth.

ORIGINAL: personaly i dont think the stock wheels/hubcaps look good at all
This is very true...

ORIGINAL: Where can i get a brake conversion kit for a reasonable price?
I understand about the money issue. I have that same problem. My best advise for you is to save for a really nice brake setup. Safety should always be number 1 on your list when building your car. In the long run you will be happier and the quality of the kit will very good if you wait and save for a nice setup. Baer Brakes have some of the nicest brake kits out there. They are also the most complete kits.

Whichever way you decide to go, make sure you plan it out carefully and stick to the route you have decided on. Don't be like me and change your mind 3 times. I started wanting to do a full resto, then switced to a drag setup then finally settled on a resto mod. I want a car that can be daily driven and still be respectable at the track, with some modern day comforts and safety features. If you plan on driving it alot, you will have to go disc brakes for safety reasons alone. Same goes if it is a high hp application.

One thing that you need t think about is what your ultimate goal is for the car. If you want to go to shows and compete, go all concours correct on it. If you dont plan on keeping it forever, do what will make it fun to drive for the moment.

As usual, that is my opinion and mine alone. There will be plenty of folks that will disagree with me. Good Luck.

MODIFIED. Coupes aren't worth a whole lot anyway.

Coupes are worth a lot if you take the time to restore them right

If I were you I would go the restomod pathway. IMOP restomods give you the best of both worlds: updated modern day styling without taking away from the nostalgia that IS "Mustang". And there are sooo many ways to do a restomod....I feel like with original restoration, its not as personalized...you end up with more of a typical look. Just my 2 cents. Have fun....

here's my front brakes: http://www.networktechs.com/mustang/DSCN0621.jpg the rims are actually off of an 04 Mustang GT "bullit" style. I've basically said screw original and going with functionality with a mix of flash where it makes sense. I have to clean up some paint chipping but heres what it looks like under the hood currently: http://www.networktechs.com/mustang/DSCN0799.jpg can't really tell that well but thats chrome export braces + monte carlo bar and yeah those caps on top of the export braces are even chrome.

Go MODERN where it counts like disc brakes and suspension where you can afford it. My car was originally an I6 and has been fairly rapidly brought up to proper V8 order (As soon as I can get the help around to finish my rear axle)
