ready for primer

Default ready for primer

my door is done. no rust no dents its perfect. i have a quart of primer and thinner. do i need to mix it or just spray staright primer? if i have to mix the two what is the proper ratio of thinner to primer?

What kind of primer? It makes a lot of difference.

go by the direction did u get miving cups its gonna be in a ratio formule like 4 parts primer and one reducer ex. 4:1

whats the can say? y didnt u go with a urethane primer?

whats the differences between the two?the can says its ready to spray but it looks too thick to spray

most paint needs to be about the thickness of milk to spray. the lacquer is just dated nothing really wrong with it(if u use a lacquer topcoat they fade out faster than the new base clears and single stage urethanes) just gotta make sure its compatible with the paint system u end up using(so u dont have a chemical reaction)

In the old days...70's, acrylic laquer was reducedf 1:1. Paint-reducer. If you want it do dry slower, add retarder. I'm talking about ol Ditzler or PPG type paint.
