i got my new door hung today. a job that should have taken 30 minutes took 6 hours. my only problem is now i cant roll my window all the way up and shut the door. the door is lined up with the fender and quarter panel, but my door striker is moving and i believe that is my problem. does anyone have any ideas about this problem

the striker and window can both be adjusted, i had the same kind of problem when my dad and i decided we would install new hinges. took all afternoon to get it right, and the door still doesnt line up with the body panels very well. take the door apart and tinker with the window assembly and you should be able to get it to move enough for you to have a good window seal (unless it is way off). as for the striker moving, im not sure. the part that attaches to the quarter panel has bolts that can be adjusted, not sure on the part on the door itself.

I had the same problem with my door after I repaired it. I would line up all the lines on the door
but it would drop. I rebuilt my door hinges, lined everything up and it worked perfectly. I would
give that a try.

mmm, the hinges have a backing plate. Maybe they arent tight to the hing, so when you open it, it pops forward enough to drop....

It is always a BE ATCH aligning your doors after they have been R&R'd. When your door is open try picking up on your door. If you have movement up and down you need to replace the pins and bushings in your hinges. Check the FAQ to see how it is done. Also do a search, there are some threads pertaining to this issue. Good Luck!
