what price
What do you think a good price is for a 1965 mustang fastback with an A code engine, 4 speed manual and needs a ground up restoration. It needs a new passenger door. Some body panels have minor rust too.
yeah at least 5000.00, coupes are alot cheaper, but not everyone keeps up woth the mustangmarket just dont insult the seller and tell them its only worth so much, tell them ur young and only have a certain amount ex 2000.00$ or 2500.00 if u try and tell them what its worth they might just run u off
A more thorough description along with where you are located would help us get you a close approximate value. If the car is complete and not a total rot box it's worth a minimum of 8-10K in my neck of the woods.
It is in Cumberland Virginia. It is complete with what we believ to be matching numbers. My dad is a realestate apprasier and he saw the car in this guys back yard 2 years ago. So 2 weeks ago we both went to look at it again and it was still there. The inspection sticker was from 1996 so it hasn't moved in 10 years. The passenger side door has been smashed in but the car looks straight and sits even. It has some minor rust all around. It has no wheels and has been sitting on the brakes. I wrote down the ident. number and checked it. The guy who has it is going through alot of financial problems and has 2 little kids now. Its not really for sale but we are gonna try and buy it from him anyways. So far we haven't been able to get in touch with him for 2 weeks now but we have only called him once each week because my dad doesn't want to seem too anxious. My dad also saved them a lot of money because he hooked them up with a better mortgage so we are on very good standings with this guy.
Then I would make a reasonable offer to him. If he has business dealings with your dad, a low ball price wont help that. Ask him what he would want for it, just be polite. Im sure your dad has it well in hand, so I dont know why I am tellin you that..lol.
Its worth a decent amount restored, as long as it isnt too far gone so it costs more to restore than it will be worth. With appreciating values right now, who knows, in ten years maybe it will be worth even more. Maybe it wont be worth anything because we have no gas to run it with... hard to say.

There will always be gas to run it on in my life time. He doesn't have buisness dealings with him. It was just one time. my dad thinks its only worth a grand. He says he buy on the spot for a grand and if he wants 2 grand he's gonna walk. My dad doesn't really like cars and he would rather spent his money on his boat. But he is only looking into this because he thinks he can get a sweet deal. I have offered to pay half because i have about 800 bucks so I just have to wait and see. It is killing me

I'm thinking there's a little more to be done than worrying about the motor blowing at this point in the venture [sm=smiley2.gif]
