I have a 1967 mustang coupe and I put a 73 351 Cleveland in it. What radiator should i use? the stock 67 the stock 73 or a different year?

 

what size engine was the original radiator for? that might make a considerable difference.

 

buy whichever is larger, you are going to need it to help keep it cool. My stock radiator was a 24", but I replaced it with a 24" 3 row. Buy the most radiator you can afford, even better if you can swing it would be an aluminum radiator.

 

the original motor was a six and that wont work, i also have a manual tranny, wich i know makes a difference. I also know that the mounts are completely different..

 

On my 66 I got a 3 row radiator and its to small. I should of got the 4 row. Get a good temp. gauge. Watch it and it will tell you if you need a bigger one. A auto trans will heat your radiator up because the radiator cool the trans. down too. So, a manual is better for not overheating the motor. With a 4 row radiator you might have to move the fan back. Is your motor stock? If so , I would try the stock radiator .

 

I know the cleveland was first made in 1970 so its deffinatly not stock, and i got it wout of a 73 mustang. I may have found an answer, the 1970 model has the same type of mounting and is about the same size, and they made a 351 cleveland for that one, so i think it may work, but if anyone has abetter idea let me know. I know the 70 body style is similar but wider and bigger in general. and thanks for all the idea.
