today when i started my 66 pony up i heard this loud screech under the hood, and it wouldnt start up. i popped the hood and tried to start again. the fan tries to kick on then just falls? my dad sez mybe the starter, hes gonna come look at it in a few hours. i have no idea wut it could be. any help?[&o] *i was drivin perty quick on the freeway yesterday too, the last time i drove her.*

 

Maybe the starter is a good place to start looking.

The screech could be the bendix spring in the starter. [sm=smiley3.gif]

 

yea it was the starter. the bottom bolt fell off[&o] so the spring couldnt connect o the flywheel, thaz y it fuked up. but i fixed it and shes running fine thanx guyz
