why mufflers?

Some 10 dollar junk yard mufflers and a few more bucks for clamps and you are legal again. If you can't afford that, you don't need to be owning a car.

I want to have the loudest car at school, but want to keep the flow sound. Do you guys think I will be pretty loud with long tubes and flow 40s. The loudest cars right now are just flowmaster mufflers.
