put a boss 429 in it, it will fit but you will have to get an aftermarket car to make it work properly

if it were me i would just build a 302, you could even stroke it out to 331 or 347 if you wanted too, but a mild built 302 is all you would need for a street car

It really just depends on how much of the car you want to modify. Like other people have said, if you do not want to modify anything, the biggest engine you can put in the car is a 351W. Anything bigger than that and you have to start modifying other parts of the car as you go bigger. If you want the 429 you'll most likely big ripping out the entire front suspension and eliminating the shock towers all together.

But like someone else said, don't forget it's not just the engine, you have tranny/rear end/suspension to worry about as you go bigger.

You can fit anything in there that you can afford to make fit. I ask because some people want to do oddball conversions like T-bird SC 3.8's, SVO 4 cyl's, or *gasp* GM 350's. The only engines that will fit easily (read: cheaply) are Ford 289/302/351W's. That said, you still need to replace all of the rest of the drivetrain and suspension to meet the requirements of the new engine.

Why ditch the I6, build it up and it will make good numbers.
