its a coupe, no rust on the body or underneath, interior is spotless not a rip or tear anywhere on it, exterior is spotless no dent knicks or scratches.

From your description it sounds like it's worth the money. It's hard to find a 65 w/o rust these days. Pictures would definately help.

That is a good price for a solid coupe. Snap us some pics so we can brag on it.

Also before you buy, check the floors from under the car, the trunk, and under the hood where the fenders bolt to the splash aprons. If you see a little rust there, there is more waiting for you..

Otherwise if it doesnt have the rust there, and hopefully its not in the framerails, a wellpainted driver is worth about that, I would offer him like $4k for it, but he isnt out of line.

When you haggle, you have to be serious about wanting the car in the first place. If you do, then get 5 grand in 100 dollar bills and roll them up and stick that wad in your pocket. Go to the guy and offer 4 grand. That is checking to see just how hot the water is. After his reply, you can either up the ante and show him the cash, or walk away. Money talks, and cold hard cash speaks the loudest.
