Where does the neg. battery cable connect?
HI all,
I got the Autolite battery top and a new set of concours battery cables. The cables I had in the car were both red! I can not see where the neg. battery cable connects in the electrical assy. drawing I have. Can someone tell where the correct place is to connect the neg? Also, the cables came with a section of cable about 2 ft. long with a 6 in. shroud on it. What is this for? Starter?
Thanks, Walt

As stated, the negative goes to the block. Look on the pasenger side of the block in the front under the forward exaust outlet. There is a threaded hole there. Hopefully your bolt is there as well. Make sure it is clean of any rust, grease or paint and hook it up. As stated above, Shielded cable goes from starter solenoid to starter.
Also, there is usually a bracket/grommet off the motor mount which the shielded wire is run through to the starter. The shielding help keep the heat from the manifolds from burning the cable.
good luck.
good luck.
