65 mustang
I am looking at buying a 65 mustang with a in-line 6. I was wondering if it was possible to buy a turbo for it or if there is another was to give it more power with out swaping out the engine?[sm=badbadbad.gif]

you can turbo ANYTHING. also, dont get a I6, I6 0 - 60 is like 15 seconds, why would you want to turbo that? get a good ol' 289/302 and turbo that. if you are going to turbo something, turbo something WORTH being turbod..IMO
a turbo i6 is a great idea. think supra? the i6 is a solid , stout motor with a lot of potential. look into clifford performance parts. he is the I6 guru. also, consider the weight savings by not switching over to a V8. ( if you get a tube header and an aluminum intake for the 6 )
you are lucky to have a cleveland they are good engines but not everyone has them and the I6 is a great engine you know what he could do it get a 300/4.9 out of a 90 something truck and put it in there and then turbo it and it will be even better cause the EFi will always automatically adjust
you can build a mean inline 6 just depends on how much money you got the rb25det i have is a inline 6 dohc turbo 2.5 out of a nissan skyline its like the sbc and sbf of the import world but parts are really pricey like 2 grand for a set of cams
Isn't it the 170 I6 that only has 4 mains? If so, this isn't a solid engine. Get a 7 bearing I6 (200 or 250) and you'll have a much better platform.
Aside from that, adding a lot of power to the sixer suspension isn't a great idea. You'd want to upgrade to the V8 components (which is a good idea anyway....unless you're going for concourse).

WOAH woah ladies slow down. some one fill me in on turboing a classic. me, knowing nothin about turbos in classics or turbos period, would like to know what yall talkin bout! I know it sounds kinda "ricey" dare i say, but i love the sound ofa turbo spooling (but a super charger whine is about as bad *** too!) the only thing i thought you could do to a classic stang was a paxton super charger. anyone got any links? thanks! (sorry not tryin to jack your thread i think it sounds like a good idea!)
