1 barrel carb
does anyone make a 1 barrel carb kit? i think i need a new one...my car wont start and its leaking gas from the exhaust manifold and my sparkplugs are covered in gas. what should i do? (its a 200 I6)
Napa makes a good kit. When you take off the top, cover the whole top of the body with your hands, before flipping the carb upside down. there are check *****, a weight and a spring in there that have to go in the correct port in the correct order. Most likely either your float valve is stuck open from crap or the float itself is sunk. The standard rebuild kit does not come with a float. You should be able to purchase it separately though.
Also, be wary of the picture in the instructions. It is generic and most probably not representative of the way your carb is set up, as far as the *****, springs and weight is concerned.
IIRC, the kit I bought last year was about $15.00.
Good luck with it.

Autozone has a carb rebuild kit as well for around $20. Bought one about 3 months ago but haven't installed. If you decide to do the rebuild, think about taking some pics and doing a write up. I would certainly be appreciative of a step by step on the one barrel
. Good luck!!!

IIRC, this went by a few weeks ago, and someone said the Autolite/Motorcraft 1100 was crap. Pony carbs says they have to tweak it a lot to get it working properly. Do you guys remember that conversation? Here is what Pony carbs says about it. I am not sure that re-engineering the interior of that little carb can be done by just buying a kit and putting it in. I have been wrong before. In fact, I was wrong one time today. I didn't dig the hole for the corner post to my garden deep enough, so had to pull the cedar post and dig it deeper.

Yes both Summit and Clifford make 2bbl adapters.
I haven't had luck with it yet, but I might be using the wrong carb. There have been several people on the ford six forums that have made it work. I think they are running headers and Duraspark 2 distributors also.

i run the 2bbl conversion on my 68. and it is great. the hardest thing is getting the throttle cable set right. it takes a few modifications to get it to work. have had it for about 3 years now and have not had a carb problem yet
i too have to 2brl swap on my 200 and i have only had a few problems mainly cause i havent gotten it tuend right yet but other than that it runs pretty good and i modified the stock linkage to work with the 2brl
