70 coupe,

You can get it a bunch of different way, mostly with the electric distibutor conversion and a new coil. Some kits you can get with plug wires as well. I went through Dallas Mustangs, but mustangs plus has the kits as well. Do a search for Pertonix II and you'll come up with install articles, it is very simple to do.

Like I said, I noticed a great differance. Now maybe I'll attack the 1 barrel carb.

Hey, don't come on the classic section and diss the kids on here. We have the world's best teenagers right cheer...... They either drive a classic Mustang, or they are working on one. And, they know the difference between ricing, restomodding and keeping it original. What Mustang do you have?

60 bucks on ebay got me a nice HEI system, which has the coil built in the cap. Includes all the elctronic stuff inside, with a one wire hookup to boot!! See the picture attached... works great. Better power, performance curve, and now it even IDLES!!!!! came with great instructions too. More than likely made in China, but it's got double ball bearing support and looks just like units retailing for 200 bucks and UP!!

ebluekeys, thats the dizzy i was lookin at on ebay. The price is amazing, its cheaper than buying an pertronix. So the coil is built in, do you know how many volts it is. is it a quality product, and does it work as well as a stock dizzy would.

I've got about 1000 miles on it over the last 6 weeks, and I can say that while I was happy with the pertronics mod to the stock distributor, this sucker is MUCH better. Since it's new, and tight, and ball bearings on the shaft, the timing is more precise. It actually IDLES now! Supposedly, it puts out a 50,000 volt spark. I put on new HEI wires too, and changed the plugs just for good measure. I am EXTREMELY pleased with it. I would recommend it to any Mustang enthusiast. The diameter is a bit larger than stock, and I had to get an "offset center" base for my 14 inch aircleaner. These bases are made just for when you use one of these bigger HEI setups. I had some issues getting the distributor to go down in and mesh with the gears, and the guys that sell the distributor were VERY quick to respond to my every question. That kind of service doesn't happen very often, so I'm glad to recommend them...
