ORIGINAL: 68Midnight

OH! I forgot i had the orig. Build sheet, or peices of it. Ill list some stuff.
Serial: T01T168760

Warranty:6
Plate: 5
Code:A
Code: 2b
Dev: A
Inst. Board: 2
Axle:16
Axle: 8901a
Shocks:E
Engine: K24
Air Cleaner: C8ZF

If you guys can make anything of that stuff....It would help. Thanks!

On a side note, I've had it since FEB, the first day my idiot brother did a burn out and it survived.
Here, decode it yourself. The 5th digit of the warranty number should be a T if it was a factory 6 banger, but the T you have is at the 4th digit. Check the numbers again. There should be 13 digits.

Did the v6 come with rack and pinion steering? It has that as well...
Hold on a second. Just what year car do you have? I've been assuming it's a '68 (up to this point), but no early Mustang came with a V6 - only inline sixes. And there were certainly no rack/pinion front ends. V6s and rack/pinions were introduced with the Mustang II. Are you sure you don't have a '78?

Sorry, meant I6, but I was told it had rack and pinion. I guess someone was in the middle of a swap. And when I decoded the engine way back, it was a 68 302....so I dont know. And Im sure I have a 68.

That vin number is not corrent at all. It should start with an 8 not a T. But looking at the vin, (which is wrong) it's a I6. Did you open the hood and look at the fender apron vin number? and the door tag? Plus, they didn't come with rack and pinion steering. You'll be able to tell. Do you have a big black box sitting next to the engine on the drivers-side where the steering shaft connects? If so, you have normal steering, like everyone else.... who is stock.

i kind of have a similiar situation..i have a 66 coupe with inline 6 3spd tranny and 4 lug..i want to drop a carburated 5.0 with a 5spd tranny into it. i also have 5 lug gt wheels off a 99 or '00 stang in my garage..i was hoping i could just change the 4 lug spindles to 5 lug and get some disc brakes to throw those wheels on it..would that be possible? or would i completely have to change the rearend and suspension?

i bet whomever you bought the car off had a cheery 6 cylender that he traded all the parts with. so you got the leftover 6 cylender parts and he got a cheery 5 lug v8. happends all the time.

i think u have a partially finished 6 to 8 cylinder swap i think som1 swapped the motor and tranny then found out how much it was gonna cost to swap in a 5 lug and said screw this and sold it cause i cant in my right mind see som1 swapping a 4 lug suspendion on a v8 car even if they were gonna put a I6 in it

I had to work a double today, so I couldnt get the pics. But I will have them tomorrow. Dont you guys think if it had the i6 rear end it would of broke by now? 9 Months later? I mean I baby it but if you say its as weak as you say it is....it should be broken by now....knock on wood.
