1968 302 timing cover issues
Hello y'all,
I just bought a timing cover from PAW for a 1968 302 that I'm in the midst of building and I'm stuck on the bolt pattern for it.
I get that the really long bolt(s) are to accomidate a water pump but, the shorter ones... it just seems that there are more bolts that don't fit than their are that do fit, is this an error on my part? Will it all make sense once I get that water pump? Oh, yeah... every other bolt set I've seen for that same timing cover are exactly the same as the set that I have so I don't think there's anything wrong with my set.

The water pump bolts are unique due to the different lengths involved. When I remove a timing cover and pump I keep track of what bolt came out of which hole. Note which bolts pick up the pointer and the alt. bracket.
You may install the cover, less pump, with temporary bolts, then when you add the pump later, add the long bolts and brackets.
