its not the quarter window....that would ROLL DOWN into the quarter panel, its seperate from the main DOOR window....im talking about the small window on the door....do u know what i mean???
so if you remove the door panel and look to your top left or right (depending on what side of the car you are on) you will see 2 or 3 bolts cant remember exactly that are either 1/2 or 9/16 that you remove and the window should pull strait up and out of there

Yeah you just have to take the nuts off and it will pull out. You may have some paint stopping it from popping out, but it will. I replaced the rubber in mine because it was squealing at high speeds, however I never did get it to stop the wind whistle completely. I just think it is just another quirk with owning one of these dinosaurs that were manufactured cheaply to sell a ton of them back then to get Lee Iacocco into the good graces with Ford.
I did use some sealer before I put the rubber in, so the wind noise is minimal. Hey, if you don't want wind noise from the vent window, then buy a new car that doesn't have a vent window. Problem solved.
Mine don't whistle at high speed but I do notice that if I yank on it (yeah, yeah, no comments) from the top (gentle yank) it moves out about 1/8-1/4" on each vent window.
Other than not opening it by pushing on that spot, is there a way to fix it so it's more securely in place?

When I smoked, I called it a smoker's window.
