Default Carb ID Help

I need help identifying my carb. I’ve gathered up the courage to rebuild my carb this winter and want to buy the *correct* rebuild kit. The car was originally a 6 cylinder that a PO installed a 302. Unfortunately, I have no idea when this occurred or where the engine came from.

I’ve exhausted almost every internet site and hard copy research I can get my hands on. My (now) educated guess is that it’s a Motorcraft 2150, based on photos.

I can clearly see the words “Motorcraft” on the passenger side of the bowl, but the sheet metal tag is missing from the driver side. There is a sticker there that I can’t make out. (In fact, it’s actually easier to read in the photo than in person because of the dirt.) Perhaps it’s the name of the company that rebuilt it last.

On the base plate, the only other identifying numbers are “1.08” (venturi) and “4DRB” which only came up with one hit on Google, and it was another Ford owner asking a similar question.

So my questions are:
[1] Can anyone confirm my guess that it’s a 2150 (via photo)?
[2] Does it even matter which specific model of the 2150 I have when getting a rebuild kit?
[3] Any suggestions for which rebuild kit to purchase?

As always, thank you all for your input. Sorry about the picture sizes. (Working on that…)

Looks like a typical Ford 2V. Most kits will have everything you need for a group of models. Most auto parts stores will ask for an ID tag, but the kits are pretty much the same.

if its OEM, won't the butterflys have a number stamped?

If not, like CM said, it appears to be a typical 2V fomoco special. typical kits will work.

I happen to do some NOS parts selling on ebay, and in one of my crates of parts i remmebered having a 2 brl carb for a 292 Tbird. Fomoco special as you guys might say. Are you interested in buying?? NOS in the box? Not sure if it will work with your application as it was made for later 50's

Take a look, standard 2 barrel like yours, Ele choke etc. -Jon

Thanks for the responses. By the way, I think I finally made out the sticker. It says "Uremco".

I'm going to give the rebuild an attempt first. At the very least, it should "learn me" a little more on the fuel system, which my knowledge is lacking. Stay posted for more helpless questions!

Thanks as always. Let me know if you have any tips for beginners on rebuilding...anything will be well received and appreciated.

Before you take it apart, get a bucket of carb cleaner with the parts basket in the bucket. When you take it apart put the parts in that basket and lower it into the cleaner, and soak everything overnight. Also, get yourself a guide to follow when putting it back together. The trickiest part is getting the float adjusted correctly. There should be a little guide tool with the kit for measuring where to bend the tab.
