Unless you've got less than 20HP it really doesn't matter. What does matter is what are you adding to the car electrical wise? PW,PL,A/C,CC, HIDs, Audio/video/Playstation, hot-tub,Keg reefer, lighted dance floor, Karioki bar, Redlight brothel, etc, all require differing amounts of power.
So what kind of goodies are you going to install?

nah just the normal.....maybe nicer headlights and led tail lights......stock radio......maybe a few extra speakers.....nothing fancy at all however the hot tub and the keg reefer sounds like a good idea

Yeah, it did to me too.

60A or better will be plenty for what you are doing. I'd swap in a 3G, very reliable, good output at idle, available over the counter at any whizbang parts-R-us place. Somewhere I saw a retrofit harness that makes it plug and play. Might have been Mustangs Unlimited? Anyways, the harness is real easy to make.

I ended getting chrome powermaster 100 amp chrome after some research - only 1 wire alternator with built in regularator - hooks up to stater side of solenoid and your done. Very clean install - little pricey $170 - but the chrome 3 wire I had before that laster 3 months and went out - and the only other chrome I could find was 100 amp. Did some research before buying a lot of people upgraded to Powermaster and have had positive comments. Only issue is that car Has to hit 800 to 1000 rpm before kicking in once kicked in it is on regardless of rpm - was a little worried about that at first but choke usually goes well over that anyway and has never been an issue.
