Default Creaks from trunk

Ok my Mustang II creaks alot in my trunk. It only happens when I go over bumps and turn a sharp corner. We put new weatherstripping in and that quieted it up, then I got rear ended (but no damage to my car) then the creaking happened again. I do not see light through the hatch though so it's still hitting the weather stripping, but i don't know why it creaks.

What should I do or check for? How do I check for exactly where the creaks and cracks are coming from?

Thanks.

I have a similar problem, I always figured it was the rear suspension...

i would assume the suspension, could be rubbing on something, possibly a bad bushing?

i bet its your rear end or suspension, take a look at it, and have someone push down on the car a lot

Are you running any polyurethane bushings in your rear springs or Shackles? If so, pick up some proper grease, and lube the heck out of them.
Is your spare full of air and tight? How about the jack stuff?

You might look for signs of rust trails that would indicate a broken weld(s). I've gone so far as to spray the whole rear chassis with black paint, then driving the heck out of it for a week or so. When I went back under, I could see where the paint flaked off, or cracked. That was where the loose panel was.

Good luck,

Damn! Haha. Well where to start... We replaced the shocks, but leaf springs no. I noticed something creaking on my right side rear tire creaking like the axle but it's not something I could hear in the car.

I will have someone push down and see or hear where it's coming from. I think my hatch is lose because it's creaking all around the hatch.

I will see if my spare tire is lose and those things.

But do all old cars creak or are really loud when you go over a bump on a road because I can feel and hear my whole car shake when I hit a pot hole or anything. But I just ignore it because I know it's an old car and they do somet times creak.

Thanks with all the help guys! I will take all your info and check it out because I will find out why it's doing it.
