I was looking at buying a v6 and sticking a v8 in it but was told its very complicated that almost the whole underbody has to be changed. If i were you id keep the v6 and if u want a v8 buy one selling the v6 if you want to

Pffffft V6...didn't exist. It's an inline 6 and whether or not you should make the swap depends on how much you can afford. It's very expensive to swap out all those parts.

Your best bet is to buy a crate motor (already built), unless you enjoy working and learning about building your own motor.
Now, the in-line 6s from what I hear aren't that bad. They produce great torque and if you have the right gearing and transmission you can beat stock V8s. Up to you, you could even try and make a project of it and see what kind of HP you can get out of the 6.

i owned a 68 fastback with a 289 and a 68 coupe with
a 200 ci.

imo, keep the inline 6. much more reliable in the long run.

There was an article on someone who souped up an i6 a while ago. You might want to do a search on here or Google to find it though because I can't remember where I saw it. I would think that you could get the i6 going pretty fast for as much if not less than doing a full engine swap.

Sally , I saw that also , if it is the same article . I saw one in Mustangs and fords , i think it was for a 60's falcon . But anyway there are sites and lots of after market stuff coming out for the sixes. I am new here , can someone explain where i go to post my pics and comments , quotes etc ... on each post submitted? Thanks , Bill
